Creative writing exercises for children are great fun.
This exercise is about dogs.
All you need to do to get started is to look carefully at the picture of the two dogs on the right.
To help your child with this exercise, try asking them the following questions.
CREATIVE QUESTIONS
Where are these two dogs?
What are their names?
Where are they going?
Why are they going there?
Are they looking for somebody or something?
What are they going to find when they get there?
What could happen along the way?
Is anyone else going to come into this story?
Are they animal or human?
What is their name?
If they are bad, what are they going to do?
If they are good, what are they going to do?
Do the two dogs get into trouble along the way?
Who will help them?
Where will they get food if they are hungry?
Will they get tired?
Where will they find shelter?
How will they get to where they are going in the end?
What will happen at the end of the story to make these two dogs feel happy again?
Don’t forget when you’ve finished your story – write the magic words THE END
Best wishes
