All the creatures in the magical little town of Ballyyahoo are special and all the creatures in Ballyyahoo are magic. But, as you will discover, some are more magical than others.
There are also lots of cats in Ballyyahoo but Maggie’s cats are probably the cleverest cats you ever saw.They love music and each of them plays a musical instrument. You can read more about these special cats here. Or you can click on the kitten in the picture below.
As well as being close to the mountains and near the sea there are a few small farms in Ballyyahoo so there are quite a lot of different animals around Ballyyahoo but you have to admit some of the best looking cows in Ireland live in Ballyyahoo.
There are also quite a few donkeys and one of them is a little bit mad. His real name is Dalphonso but Ballyyahooians just call him Daffo.
Daffo loves carrots and apples and will do anything to get them. One day he saw an apple that had fallen down between the stones on a wall.
Poor Daffo did everything he could to try and get that apple. He even tried to knock the wall down with his head. Click here or on the picture below to see a little film of Daffo.

Now, at the top of this page I mentioned something about magic and the Squawk-birds of Ballyyahoo are just some of the magical creatures that live here.
Not all Ballyyahooians like the Squawk-birds. It may be because they are noisy, it maybe because they steal things, but whatever the Ballyyahooians think, the Squawk-birds are as much a part of Ballyyahoo as they are and the Squawk-birds are here to stay.
